Synology Package Updates Galore

Over the last couple of days Synology updated 11 packages, including their most used packages.

I’ve successfully installed all the packages on my test server and have used Cloud Station, Audio Station, Note Station, and Video Station in production environments. I didn’t have any problems doing the updates and there haven’t been any apparent problems in the short time there’s been after the installation.

Download Station

Version 3.5-2962 was released June 25th and includes the following fixes.
1. Fixed a security issue to prevent cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks performed using torrent files.
2. Fixed an issue where NZBGet would fail to set the filename of a task properly.
3. Minor bug fixes.

Cloud Station

Version 3.2-3482 was released on June 25th and contains the following fixes and improvements.

Improvements
1. Optimized file system scanning performance.
2. Enhanced upgrade compatibility for versions older than 3.2-3400.
3. Enhanced file conflict logic with non-ASCII characters.

Fixed issues

  1. Fixed an issue where Cloud Station update might prevent booting.
  2. Fixed an issue where PC clients might fail to remove a folder immediately after certain events on the server.
  3. Fixed error message and log issues related to shared folder quota.
  4. Fixed an issue where folders with dummy nodes cannot be renamed.

Video Station

Version 1.5-0757 was released on June 25th and contains the following fixes.
1. Fixed a security issue to prevent potential SQL injection attacks.
2. Improved mp4 video streaming performance in iOS.
3. Minor bug fixes.

Note Station

Version 1.1-0207 was released on June 25th and contains the following fixes:

  1. Fixed an issue where text on the Public Sharing page might be garbled in QQ Browser on mobile devices.
  2. Fixed an issue where tags could not be deleted all at once on the Info page.
  3. Minor bug fixes.

Audio Station

Version 5.4-2852 was released on June 25th and contains the following fixes.

  1. Fixed an issue where cue sheet parsing might not work properly.
  2. Fixed an issue where editing tags of large audio files would fail.
  3. Fixed an issue where Japanese and Korean characters could not be sorted correctly.
  4. Fixed an issue where smart playlists shared publicly might not be played properly.
  5. Fixed an issue where a JavaScript error might occur when creating “My favorite radio”.
  6. Minor bug fixes.

Cloud Station Client

Version 3.2-3482 was released on June 25th with the sole purpose of being compatible with Cloud Station 3.2-3482.

Additional Package Updates

The following packages have also been updated.

Drupel

Version 7.38-0037 was released on June 25th. It was upgraded to 7.38 to address multiple security vulnerabilities (CVE-2015-3231, CVE-2015-3232, CVE-2015-3233, CVE-2015-3234).

When you update the Drupel package it will also update MariaDB if it isn’t the latest version. Don’t update Drupel if there’s a reason you don’t want to upgrade MariaDB.

MariaDB

Version 5.5.43-0033 was released on June 26th. It was upgraded to 5.5.43 to address multiple security vulnerabilities (CVE-2015-0501, CVE-2015-2571, CVE-2015-0505, CVE-2015-0499) and also contains other minor bug fixes.

Moodle

Version 2.9.1-0036 was released June 26th and contains the following fixes:

  1. Upgraded to 2.9.1 to address multiple security vulnerabilities (CVE-2015-3174, CVE-2015-3175, CVE-2015-3176, CVE-2015-3177, CVE-2015-3178, CVE-2015-3179, CVE-2015-3180, CVE-2015-3181).
  2. Minor bug fixes.

osTicket

Version 1.9.7-0024 was released on June 26th and was upgraded to 1.9.7 for bug fixes.

Perl

The Perl package was updated to version 5.18.4-022 on June 25th or 26th but no list of changes was published.
