This Week’s Synology Package Updates (June 24, 2016)

Synology News

There were a handful of packages updated on DiskStation Manager 6 along with one updated on DiskStation Manager 5.


There were seven packages updated on DSM 6, including on third-party package that’s distributed through Synology Package Center.

Antivirus Essential

Antivirus Essential was updated to version 1.4.1-2717 which fixed an issue where file scanning might take more time after upgrading to DSM 6.0.

Cloud Station ShareSync

Cloud Station ShareSync was updated to version 4.1.0-4222 and includes:

  1. Added support for DSM notifications
  2. Fixed an issue where the sharing link dialog may fail on Cloud Station ShareSync
  3. Fixed an issue where server may fail to connect
  4. Fixed an issue where file upload may fail to resume.

Version 4.1-4221 was released on the same day and upgraded Cloud Station Client to be compatible with DSM 5. This is the client that is installed on DiskStation Manager 6.

Cloud Station Server & Drive

Both Cloud Station Server and the Cloud Station Drive Clients were updated to version 4.1-4222. There weren’t any release notes for the server component but the client included the following changes:

What’s New

  1. Added support for Windows group policy deployment with MSI installation files.
  2. Added support for Synology Online Help.
  3. Added support for creating sharing links through advanced settings.
  4. Added an option to hide the context menu.
  5. Added support for auto-upgrade when wrong versions are detected.

Fixed Issues

  1. Fixed an issue where creating connections may cause computer name error.
  2. Fixed an issue where testing the connection may cause software crash.
  3. Fixed an issue where sync may wrongly resume after software restart.
  4. Fixed an issue where client software may fail to be enabled.
  5. Fixed an issue where changing connection type may cause display inconsistencies on system tray.
  6. Fixed an issue where text may be missing in the context menu.
  7. Fixed an issue where renaming a large number of files in the same folder may fail.
  8. Fixed an issue where server may fail to connect.
  9. Fixed an issue where file lock detection may fail.
  10. Fixed an issue where file download may cause file name error.
  11. Fixed an issue where file upload may fail to resume.
  12. Fixed an issue where connection via search results may fail.


Docker was updated to version 1.11.2-0268 with the following changes:

  1. Fixed an issue where port forwarding cannot function correctly after editing the container.
  2. Fixed an issue where some images on Docker Hub cannot be downloaded.
  3. Added IP Masquerade option in Docker Network.
  4. Upgraded Docker to 1.11.2.
  5. Docker package now supports auto upgrade in Package Center.

Glacier Backup

Glacier Backup was updated to version 1.3.0-0272 which enhanced the storage usage display and fixed an issue where overlong filenames might cause backup/restoration failure.

Surveillance Station

Surveillance Station has been updated to version 7.2.2-4649.

Compatibility and Installation

  1. Surveillance Station 7.2.2 must be installed on Synology products running DSM 6.0-7321 and above.

What’s New

  1. Higher level of integration with Axis Door Controller A1001 provides more configurable advanced settings in Surveillance Station.
  2. Added support to set mounted CIFS folders as recording storage.
  3. Added support for DPI and zoom in/ out display in web browsers.
  4. Added support of recording database re-index to fix the inconsistency of recording list and the physical recording files.
  5. Added generic camera API support from HikVision to enhance the compatibility for its upcoming surveillance product models.
  6. Added new function to automatically fix system database error caused by unexpected power failure.
  7. Enhanced privilege settings for administrators to manage export/mount recording privileges.
  8. Administrators now can view the account information of events’ operators in Log application.

Fixed Issues

  1. Enhanced Timeline seeking performance.
  2. Enhanced Live View stability.
  3. Enhanced compatibility of H.264 high profile codec of HikVision cameras.
  4. Optimized stream connection mechanism to prevent out-of-memory issue under high loading environment.
  5. Adjusted the options in PTZ Speed Control page: the option of “Keep original camera settings” will not be configurable if the camera does not support the speed settings.
  6. Fixed an issue where Surveillance Station may restart when logged in via QuickConnect.
  7. Fixed an issue where the recording rotation may not work properly when a recording size is over 2GB.
  8. Fixed an issue where all recipients may not receive event snapshots just because the verification of only some recipients fails.
  9. Fixed an issue where users may not log in to Surveillance Station normally when using DSM alias.
  10. Fixed an issue where the recordings may not be deleted normally under certain circumstances.
  11. Fixed an issue where the live-view stream may not display normally when live view and recording are streamed separately with multicast being enabled.
  12. Fixed an issue where the live-view stream on DS cam for iOS may not display correctly when mobile and recording streams are set as different ones.
  13. Fixed an issue where migrating/mounting recordings from recording server may not work properly when the recording server is in a domain.


The one third party package that was updated was DokuWiki which was updated to version 2015.08.10-0105 which upgraded DokuWiki to version 2015-08-10a “Detritus”.


Cloud Station Client

Cloud Station Client was updated to version 4.1.0-4221 to be compatible with DSM 5.
